 Our Founders...
They dared to dream.		 It has often been said that a union is made up of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Beginning with our Founders, the IBEW has been built by members working together to make a better life for each other. Be proud of this, your union heritage. 

It's important that we remember our fallen brothers who helped to build this union. Together, the IBEW Local Union No. 728 and Memories of Me have formed the IBEW 728 Memorial Wall to pay tribute to our fallen brothers. In the true spirit of our union heritage, let's pause and reflect on the paths taken by our brothers who were here with us. Take a moment to visit the dedications and honor those we worked with, laughed with, and loved. The IBEW 728 Memorial Wall is a place of honor, built with union pride, to hold fast to their memory.

Recent Losses

The names listed below are brothers who recently passed away. They will be sadly missed.

Yepes,  Louis  F. 

February 3, 1960 - February 22, 2004

Brother Yepes was a Journeyman Wireman and initiated into Local Union 728 on November 4, 2002.    His wife, Trina, and his three children, Louis Jr., Jiovanni, and Coryn survive Brother Yepes. 

 Hayward,  Fredrick W.

February 20, 1936 – February 4, 2004

Brother Hayward was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 728, on October 1, 1973, and retired March 1, 1998.  Among his survivors are his sons, Dan, who is a Journeyman Wireman member of this Local, and David.


Paige, Robert J. 

August 31, 1919 – February 2, 2004

Brother Paige was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 728 on March 2, 1970, and retired October 1, 1979.  He is survived by his wife, Adeline, and daughter Nancy.

 
 Bucholtz, Ernest R. 

February 22, 1920 – January 14, 2004
Brother Bucholtz was a Residential Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 728 on July 6, 1971, and retired March 1, 1992.  He is survived by his son, Paul, and daughter Judy Treneer.

 
Sexton, Horace G. 

September 20, 1934 – January 5, 2004

Brother Sexton was a Journeyman Lineman and was initiated into Local Union 846, Chattanooga, TN, September 27, 1951, and was accepted into Local Union 728 on May 19, 1958, and retired January 1986.  He is survived by his Niece, Karen Keeton.

 
 Pepe, Christopher E.

September 3, 1963 – January 5, 2004

Brother Pepe was a Journeyman Wireman and initiated into Local Union 323 on July 19, 1991.  His mother, Bernice Napolie, and sister, Leslie Pepe, survive him.  The Memorial Service will be held in North Carolina.

 
Ingram, David 

September 20, 1934 – January 5, 2004

Brother David Ingram was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into L.U. 1393 December 15, 1966 then transferred to Local Union 728 November 7, 1983.  He retired June 1, 2001.  He is survived by his wife, Terri, and nephew, David.

 
Siems, Harold C. 

July 19, 1907 – December 31, 2003

Brother Harold Siems was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into L.U. 728 on December 2, 1940.  Brother Siems founded Florida Electric Service in November 1966, and that company is still one of our signatory contractors.  He retired October 1972.  Among his survivors are sons, Ken, and Steve who are members of Local 728.

 
Ross, Marcus L. 

June 12, 1921 – December 25, 2003

Brother Marcus Ross was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 728 on January 19, 1948, and retired February 1983.  He is survived by his wife, Doris, and his son, David, a Journeyman Wireman out of Local Union 728.


Lowry,  Leonard G. 

June 17, 1943 – December 8, 2003

Brother Leonard Lowry was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 728 on August 1, 1966, and retired May 1, 2001.  He is survived by his wife, Vicky, and brother James Lowry, Journeyman Wireman, Local Union 728.

Sandridge, McArthur “Buddy” 

May 24, 1936 – November 22, 2003

Brother McArthur Sandridge was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 728 on May 6, 1968, and retired July 1, 1999.  He is survived by his wife Marion Ann.

Kahant, Larry 

October 15, 1932 – November 21, 2003

Brother Larry Kahant was a Journeyman Wireman and was initiated into Local Union 323 on January 4, 1957.  His wife, Carol, and two sons, Ted and Chris, survive him.  The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2003, at 2 p.m., in Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1003 Allendale Rd., West Palm Beach, FL 33405 – phone number (561) 833-7605.  donations are to be sent to Hospice.

Pettinelli  C. Anthony 

May 19, 1953 – November 15, 2003

Brother Anthony Pettinelli was a Journeyman Wireman initiated into L. U. 728, September 6, 2000.  Brother Pettinelli was survived by his Mother and Father Eugene and Anna, and his brothers and sisters.

Wathena T.,  Sean 
May 27, 1978 – October 8, 2003

  Brother Sean Wathen was a Journeyman Wireman initiated into L. U. 728, November 1, 1999.  Brother Wathen is survived by his Mother, and Father, Diana and Luke.


Schubert, Hugh P. 

November 16, 1944 – September 28, 2003

Brother Schubert was a Journeyman Wireman initiated into L. U. 728, September 3, 1968.  Brother Schubert was survived by his wife Marie.
